Here we have our therapist Andrew performing a lateral chain stability drill with a weight. It is important to perform drills that use our lateral chain. Our lateral chain uses three main muscles. these muscles are the adductor muscles, glute medius and our opposing quadratus lumborum. Also, these muscles help keep us upright whilst on one foot. This happens regularly during our gait cycle.

To do this exercise, grab a weight anywhere from 10-20 lbs, depending on your shoulder strength. Then, lift that weight and stand yourself on the same foot. Do this for a period of 15-30 seconds. Afterwards, switch sides and do the other leg. Perform 3-4 sets. If this is too easy, start doing a single leg squat.

If you have and questions our number is 206-624-7602. Also, our address is 201 Yale Ave N. Seattle, WA 98119.
